IMC, International Muaythai Council
was born on 12.02.2007.
An historic inaugural meeting for the
IMC held in Bergneustadt (Germany), during AITMA
Seminar days (10-26 February 2007) outlined a
calendar of championships in 17+1 weight divisions.
The first IMC world titles were
scheduled for Athens in light heavyweight division
(www.imc-muaythai.com).
Included in the planning for
2007/2008 was to establish Champions in all weight
divisions, involving the USA, Europe, Australia and
Asia events.
We restore to a state of harmony with
WPMF, S1,
WMC and WBC Muaythai, four more professional Muaythai
federations establish in Thailand and working
international.
We reached unanimous agreement on the
importance of the IMC as the one of three most
credible bodies for the sanctioning of elite
MUAYTHAI competition and world title championships
events worldwide.
We discussed also the objectives of
the IMC, the establishment of credible ratings and
rankings and a calendar of championship events.
We gave unanimous acclamation for:
1. Mr. Channarong Suhongsa as
Chairman of the IMC
2. Prof. Dr. Phosawat Saengsawang (Kru
PHO) by the Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University as
Vice president and Commities Chairman,
3. Sir Branko von Grimsic as Vice
president and Supervisor Chairmann.
In his first message for the IMC
future President Mr. Channarong give his full support to
Sir
Branko v. Grimsic for the organisation of the IMC as
the sanctioning body for MUAYTHAI championships and
fair competition worldwide.
It was agreed the prime and sole decision freedom of
Sir Branko v. Grimsic.
The meeting defined the
interdependence of the IMC with Muaythai rules and
regulations of Sport Authority of Thailand as the
sanctioning body for MUAYTHAI rankings in 17 + 1
weight divisions, championship events and world
titles.
The primary objective of IMC is to
promote MUAYTHAI internationally as an acclaimed and
popular fighting art, and to foster MUAYTHAI as an
elite ring sport with the highest levels of
professional competition.
IMC competition will organized on
tiered levels to ensure that there is global
uniformity of all IMC rules and regulations:
IMC world titles championships
IMC international championships
IMC country championships
IMC elimination title contests
IMC inter-club events
The IMC sub-committees
are
responsible for the
supervision of all international competition and
events sanctioned by the IMC.
IMC decide to be credible
organization to rank MUAYTHAI fighters and organize
championship competition with fairness and in the
best interests of Thailand�s national sport and
cultural heritage, stipulated in the
"Rules and Regulations" of the Sports Authority of
Thailand.
Media and Communications -
responsible for all media and publicity and
copyright of all IMC events.
The IMC will hold its annual
convention every year on different place and for
2008 will be on march 13 in Ayutthaya.
IMC wish that all of our friends
agreed to work diligently to provide country and
regional rankings for all 17+1(super heavyweight +95
kg)-weight divisions and to support the organizing
of world championship events by the IMC.
